Mr. Rosenbaum’s patent practice specializes in biomedical, biotechnological, pharmaceutical, chemical, biochemical, semiconductor materials and processes, and computer software. Dr. Silvert is an attorney specializing in the management and protection of chemical and biotechnology-related assets, with a background in the pharmaceutical and agricultural biotechnology sectors. He brings to the firm both large firm and in‑house counsel experience, as well as over five years of licensing and marketing/sales experience in leadership positions in the private corporate sector. Dan graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May, 2007 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in English. Dan is currently a Juris Doctor candidate at Chicago-Kent College of Law enrolled in the Intellectual Property Certificate Program and is expected to graduate in May, 2010. Dan placed on the Dean’s List during the Fall 2008, Spring 2009, and Fall 2009 semesters and received the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Legal Writing III. Previously, Dan worked at Caterpillar, Inc. where he designed instrumentation racks for small track-type tractors, performed engineering testing on fuel tanks, performed drawbar pull tests to evaluate machine performance under field conditions, and was responsible for issuing technical reports detailing his work. Prior to joining Rosenbaum & Silvert, P.C., Dan worked as a patent agent prosecuting patent applications at Patents+TMS, P.C. Mr. Chavka assists the firm’s attorney’s in conducting prior art searching in support of patentability and clearance analyses and in preparation and prosecution of patent applications, particularly, those involving mechanical engineering technologies. Mr. Chavka has prosecuted patent applications involving endoluminal stents, prosthetic cardiac valves, in vivo imaging probes utilizing optical coherence tomography, polymeric insulating materials, solar panels, oil spill sensors having wireless communication capabilities, shared-use personal transportation systems, vending machines, multi-functional plumbing devices, electrical junction boxes, and circuit breaker locks. u Daniel C. Mr. Pierron previously worked as an Engineering Technician for Pinnacle Technology, Inc. in Lawrence, Kansas where he produced efficient printed circuit board layouts and diagnosed faulty products. Dan has also served as the Co-Director of the Center for Community Outreach in Lawrence, Kansas where he created monthly community service projects to benefit in-need members of the community, coordinated communications between community service groups and acted as the Center representative at University of Kansas events. Rynae E. Boler, Law Clerk email: rboler@rosenbaumsilvert.com Ms. Boler received her B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering in December, 2005 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is expecting to receive her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in May, 2010 with a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law. Prior to law school, Ms. Boler worked at Kimberly-Clark Corporation where she researched fundamentals of hook and loop engagement and designed and conducted trials at pilot plants and research facilities to qualify new materials for use in Kimberly-Clark’s products. Rynae also served as a Biomolecular Materials Science and Biophysics Research Assistant at the University of Illinois where she designed colloidal additives to optimize couterion release upon binding to specific pathogen strains via local charge density matching.
